What is bankruptcy?

An individual debtor who has been adjudged bankrupt by a bankruptcy order made by the Singapore Courts either through a creditor’s or debtor’s application for bankruptcy.

Should I file for bankruptcy?

If you are being sued for debts you are not able to pay and you own properties, you may petition a debtor’s bankruptcy. A bankruptcy will stop a lawsuit immediately and prevent your creditors from placing a lien on your home or garnishing your wages.

What are the alternatives to bankruptcy?

A debtor may negotiate with the creditors to have the outstanding debt compounded or pay the debts in installments.

What are the types of business entities?

There are several vehicles through which businesses are traded, including as "sole trader", "partnership", "company", "branch office" or possibly as a "limited liability partnership (LLP)."
